  • pre-schlitterbahn!! more to come

I had a really long, nice weekend + some days in Austin...it was a lotta fun and I spent a lot of time with Luke, which makes me happy

On Thursday, I took the greyhound bus really early in the morning...I thought it would be complicated, looking at their website and their rules, but actually it was quite a nice ride, very quiet and smooth, and I rested quite well. I don't really think anyone there is shady and it's really not too bad, except mebe the price and the time it takes (going there, waiting, and the drive time and getting picked up is like 4.5 hrs, and you have to plan ahead to catch it at the right time, instead of leaving whenever you're ready)

I had plans to work on my resume and some job search stuff while in Austin, but *surprise!* right when I got there, I got a call from the place i interviewed at on Tuesday and they offered me a job! It was surprising, mostly cuz i thought they wouldn't tell me until a week later, which the guy said. I said I would have to think on it...which, later, yes, i needed that option: i got an email later taht day with a job opportunity-- a personal one, so they were interested in an interview...so I was like uh-oh, what to do. I did like the sounds of the 2nd job (more qualified/towards the future i want, plus better pay) but since it wouldn't be until a coupla weeks before the position would open and get more information, PLUS i might not be the only candidate, just so much what-if situations that I took the sure thing (the first job: at a wedding gown wholesale as their computer help desk), especially in these economic hard times. This finally was finalized by Friday, so I'll get back to what i did on Thursday...

So Luke and I ate at Seadragon (a chinese vietnamese restaurant near 183, we both like it) and then walked around in Big Lots and Target for some small shopping things. We ended up going to the Highland Mall, which was creepily empty...even tho i didn't expect many ppl cuz it was a weekday, but accounting for summer...i woulda expected more people, ya know? Talking to some sales ppl, it seemed that the mall had gotten slow, and that some places were even closing down :\ (i got a whole hair straighening tutorial out of it, tho, as well...it was nice to see how to use a straightener well! lol) it was just weird to be like two of 5 people in popular stores, like Express or aeropostal, or like the only ppl in some stores at all. Also looking out from inside a store to outside, it was VERY empty >>;; many times, i couldn't see anyone walking around. I dunno if it's from economy or that too many kids play computer games all the time now instead.

On Friday, we went to see UP at the alamo drafthouse...I really like watching movies there since their food selection is quite good, and not that expensive. UP was really cute too :) the characters were very likable and the movie was imaginative. Hm, thinking about it, for some reason, I expected a bit more of a message, kinda like ratatoullie or kungfu panda (haha, for some reason, i do really like that movie :D), but not like a subtle force message like Wall-e. Anyhoo, it was still good and cute. I also tried working out with Luke, which got my abs a bit sore for a day or two >.<

Saturday, we ventured out to eat at Kyoto's, and the pieces were bigger than usual...it wasn't so busy, and even tho we were like 3rd in line. The service was still slow, tho, and for some reason the longhorn and unagi were spicier than usual D: we had a contest where for the last 6 pieces each of longhorn, if we could eat it all without drinking water...i was suffering the most x_x

Sunday, I went to his church in austin, and afterwards we ate at coco's for the soup :9 we got ready for the schlitterbahn people to come, and cleaned up a bit and stuff... we ate at Rudy's with everyone when they got here to plan for stuff.

So, for the lead up to Schlitterbahn (which I'll have to write about in another entry) it was really relaxing, especially after landing a job and not having to worry about playing too much and not job searching. Not that I write alot about me and luke's escapades--I'm a bit more undetailed my relationships here-- but I really enjoy the time with him and I was really happy this entire week(end). Plus I got to watch a lot of the office (which is really funny, and one of my favorite shows of all time)

    :)

PS: i will write about schlitterbahn next, but just to start you off:
    YOU MISSED OUT!!
if you didn't go, of course.
