because of all the poke craze lately (darn you heart gold/soul silver) I've been thinking a lot about cosplay...and a certain trainer...

DANG. SUPER COOL.

Like seriously, what's awesome about generation II/the gold silver games was that the characters grew up. and if you played red/blue/yellow, and then gold/silver, it was AWESOME cuz, well, you were once that little trainer kid who started out from pallet town and now you're some epic trainer on Mt. Silver with the strongest NPC team ever.
It's like, from a kid to a man~~ haha, kinda lame. But I had pokemon yellow so actually the pokemon team matched up pretty well.

Also, I have many pictures (well, mebe like 3) of Red looking awesome and grown up. with the usual "..." and cap covering his face, I dunno, it's pretty hot, if i do say so myself. Much cooler than the usual Ash Ketchum, who often can't keep his mouth shut.

But ya.
In actualty, I don't think i would cosplay him, cuz, well, i think the effect i'm looking for has to be male and kinda on the tall side. and hot.

Plus, I haven't even caught any of the legendary pokemon yet in Pokemon Emerald....*fails as trainer*
I just like training too many pokemon.

CON REPORT!! wow, 6 years of going to conventions.

Overall, Oni-con was kinda...hm...not much to do, but SO MUCH FFING fun hanging out >DDDD Paro X JAC <3s! Our conversations are always the best~~ and so random, so many memories.
 - The physics kids ('Well, this is how we feel WHEN YOU GUYS TALK ABOUT PHYSICS) lol daren's so funny
 - GYM LEADERS!!! omg! probably most epic win group since our full ouran group :D (our other groups are always epic win, but i think our actual last COMPLETE group was ouran. Seigaku before that :B but we never wore that all together at a con) and our first photoshoot with an awesome photographer since Shawn ;_;

 - being a DOUCHEBAG and talking about being a douchebag a lot

okay, uh, should go into the detailed report...

Friday:
I woke up and had to kinda rush all my stuff together to bring to work...my hair was kinda gross (i thought i would wear a wig later, so didn't bother washing my hair, but so for the first half of the day it was kinda ewws and i wore my headband to kinda hide it) Work happened to be SUPER busy >.< I could barely get my breaks in (which, i don't NEED, but dammit, i deserve it sometimes lol) Luckily we had a potluck at work today, so i could work at my desk while eating...and take my lunch hour really late to go and get dressed for colonello~~
I tore up daren's old fai wig and merged it with my colonello wig, it's like a lion o_O but luckily with the headband on, i personally think it looks pretty good! more spiky. I'm satified...and I thought i did more dynamic makeup too, so i didn't look so tired and i think it came out well in photos (in real life, might be a little over the top, but wait till you see sabrina o_O)
anyhoo, so at work all the ppl were like WOAHH lol and cracking up and wanting pictures. That was fun.
After work, went to dulles and waited for natalie to come by and then we went to oni-con~~ helped her put on lambo wig (wig help, count 1) and we met up with ashley and emily~~~ (who, were being so very weird)
it was FREAKING CROWDED inside the con. like, omg. it REALLY surprised me a lot. i thought it would be kinda small cuz no one would register for it and kinda like atsui, but NOOO it was more like, oni-con2/ikkicon 1 crowded. lines and just slow moving hallways...i didn't know so many ppl would go! it was weiirdd
anyhoo, i helped ashley put on her wig (wig help count 2), and then the rest of us were BABIES!!! natalie is super bad at borrowing things from us, she forgot to remind emily to bring her a blazer -_- just like she didn't remind me that she not only needed wig, but also horns and belt and necklace (thankfully, Ryan could collect that stuff for her...)
we wandered and saw Eden/Janie/Connie and Priscilla/Eric/Angela and Will...the artists. all were kinda like 'er, the con just gave us our tables'...this is 7 at night, btw. so that was kinda lame. I didn't ever really get a good look at all the artist stuff cuz of how crowded the place was, but nothing too eye catching.
so we were just chilling and went to see BURANDEN. COMPLICATED LIFEEEEEE stupid song is stuck in my head and now i want it >>; lol he was pretty good! and I was surprised again at how good the stage was. lighting too. (but later, lighting was TOO fancy..everyone in the cosplay contest is like off colored...)
The HBU kids came around! but they pretty much almost left like an hour later (also, tried to put on naruto wig for alex --wig help 3, but his head is giant -_- so) ...since we needed to get home and work on stuff...well, the 3 of us hung around for a little and just sat and chatted, I worked on abra :B but ya...no pictures of new wig :( so perhaps a photoshoot later! kekekeke. at the very end, one of the artist alley tables had korean music, so we did some requests :) HEARTHEARTHEARTHEARTHEAART breaker!
so...i think...i dropped off natalie at home, and then ate foods and worked really late on abra...made him amputee less, still have the claws left to do >>; but yay~~ complete! i bet bear was pissed that i was staying up late again...)

Saturday
So, woke up kinda late...went to emily's to get her bald cap on (wig help--count 4, but kinda doesn't count), and spent forever on makeup, lol...was trying to follow michelle phan's online tutorial, but i kinda fail...but the makeup looked better with the wig on :) kinda creepy. ashley came over (wig help--count 5) and we all helped emily, and then natalie was lattteee (as expected...also, wig help count 6)) so we rushed to the con to try and catch the pokemon photoshoot...
...which was like, a buncha pokemon cosplayers just kinda standing around >>; apparently, looking at pictures, they did take photos, but being like 15 minutes late, everyone's just chilling afterwards. ah well. so we left (some guy kept giving us ramune candy in the form of 'poke food') and we hit up the dealer's room.
I spoke with one of the dealers about why they split it into two rooms, and he said cuz oni-con screwed up, and totally was unprepared for them...they just set up the tables like super late and he was like -_-''' but interesting. And the main dealer's room was HOT AS FFFFSS i was like, i don't know if i can stand being in here long...
but i saw capybaras! so i bought them for feng :) but...it's more enjoyable being with them now...so soft and fuzzy >w< but no! no more plushies!! it was a good deal tho, only $22.50 each (2 for $45)...online, they don't sell under like $30...so softtttttt *_*
So then the HBU kids wanted us to sign up for cosplay, so we stuck around and did some of that...avoided Jared (awkward! >>; his infamy of annoyningness is spreading, so i heard)...and then the HBU KIDS CAME AND IT WAS OMG GYM LEADERS!!!
So I went and switched out Alex's wig with colonello's (haha, young surge! so funny. he was like, i look young for once! also, wig help count 7) and outside i saw whitney~~~! and mike boike. never been formally introduced, but he was guessing all our gym leaders, and offered to take photos for us!! omg! a real photoshoot, lol. Well, we have our own, but Mike's really awesome at posing and thinking of compositions for us...we barely did any work, lol, so we're all excited for the photos to come out. Also, daren pretended to flip my skirt, and that was the most hetero thing he's done in like...ever, lol. funnyz
Afterwards, emily, natalie, ashley, irwin, and me went to subway to grab food...the others had to change and get the props ready. But the line at subway was soooo long (oh, and i found headphones along the way >>;) and like, we were waiting forever...and natalie sat with our stuff...and when we got to the front of the line, and it was time for natalie to get in line after us, she CHICKENED OUT AND DIDN'T GET IN LINE. WTF. and then went to the END OF THE LINE. omg. =_= natalieeeeee *disapproving mother look* i can kinda understand not wanting to cut, but i don't see how it is a GOOD IDEA AT ALL to think to get in line later. omg. the guys behind her were making fun of her (ms popular :B) but ya, in seriousness, we had to go and bring the food to the HBU kids and practice, so no time to wait. geez.
Went to practice and scarfed down the food...we went to the artist area to practice, and I was going to get changed out, when I noticed like...ppl taking pictures with fancy-looking japanese ppl...I was like "...is that satsuki?"...
I didn't want to disrespect our guests and like, strip down in front of them, so I was like, mmhmrrm ya...and just kinda did other stuff, but that was random, lol. wish i did go see their concert, so i could have known to taken a picture with them or something. But not huge on jrock/visual kei anyhoo...
so I cut the Sanji Wig (wig help count 8) in like record time, and learned the prop work for the HBU kids' skit...later, on stage, I looked kinda awkward at some important parts. *sigh* whatever...their skit was good enough without me screwing up, lol so then aftewards, we went to rehearsal...
Rehearsal was so much fun, we were all screwing around cuz it was cold and we were trying to keep warm, and also there were a buttload of walkons compared to skits, so while those ppl were getting organzied, I got to roll around with natalie and whitney and lily/shannon...wheeeeee so hyper! and do korean dances, and phillipino dances, and talk w/ ppl that i know of? but never formally introduced (like twinzik and score) and the MCs were funny too. (well, not cherry MC, she didn't talk much for us in rehearsal, like Count D and Seto Kaiba)
so the contest was fun....couldn't pay much attention tho, but there were lots of good walkons, imho...skits, tho, it was...like 3 acting skits out of like 12...ish. All the rest were like singing and/or dancing...that is a HUGE percentage and like, i'm sure it was good singing and dancing, but it's not like that is usually a judging factor of 'in character' or like 'acting' or skit creation, ya know?? plus, it may sound/look good, but very few dancing/singing skits are attention grabbing. Heartstrings and meiji musical from afest are good examples, or the pokemon cancancan, or our final dance fantasy...ya know? stuff like that. but ppl were still good at what they did. and then there was that last skit (an 'acting' one) but it was cut off mid way, and actually, i watched a vid of it, and i don't get what was happening in the first place) and then that speech? we were all like, wtf is going on.
anyhoo
the halftime shows were good...lol anime dating game, that was really funny (probably funniest part of the contest...not that paro's skit isn't funny, but the dating game could go on for like....10-15 minutes, so ya know, put in more funny into that time.) and then saw melissa~~~! excitement! she won best in show too!!! and then Paro won best skit!!! w00t!!! very exciting and great job guys <3 i really liked the ending :3
anyhoo, afterwards we hung out at priscilla nad eric's new table, and then celebration dinner at ihop! huzzah! and OMG the conversation was epic.
as usual.
Ah, but it's hard to remember, but it was a lot of fun and much laughing and awesomeness. Paro x JAC is the best~~ah, can't wait for digimon! and road trip to AX!!!
But ya, we stayed at Ihop really late and i was getting very sleepy, so we drove home and I crashed (after combing wigs...)

Sunday
We got our extra hour! So i woke up leisurely and put on my nice clothes :) and nice makeup! i hope, at some leisure breakfast and went to natalies to meet up with emily and ashley
Didn't help with wigs today! haha. so i think the final count is 8 wigs. phew!
but ya, we went and i think dealer's room was first...I got a domo-kun bag :D i wanted pokemon, but bag is more useful :X and talked with some dealers that i haven't seen around in a while :B that was cool
and then we played a bit of doctor who pinball! we played a bit yesterday, but today emily did an EPIC GAME and went against the supreme dalek like 3-4 times o_O omg! so good!
I went and took pictures of Ashely's San (mononoke)...outside was really bright, and I hope the pictures could turn out okay...mebe work on them tomorrow...
the HBU kids showed up, and I wanted to take pictures for one piece, but natalie and dan were working on physics, so that was more loitering, plus when i got my camera, i loitered some too..so by the time i was ready, it was like 'oh, well, we're too tired to take pictures today and had wig taken offs and stuff' and i was like FFFFFS DDDD< but whatever :p and so then we went to chilis and had more fooddddd omg, too much food >.< not as hilarious conversation as ihop (i think cuz at ihop, we were squished in a booth and kinda night-delirious) but still funnnnnn awww, will miss everyone. <3s
I took natalie home and then crashed for a good while. phew!

I think that's it! awesome, no? best part was just hanging out, we should do it more often (but whenever it's non-convention hangout, we're stressed a bit over other things...at conventions, we're like completely....WHHEEEEEE mode. so much fun. It's like a vacation every once in a while, and i'm always glad to spend it with everyone~~)

PS: man! so many young asian kids at this con! same was with matsuri...and afest....it's weird. must be the new generation. When i was an young asian kid, i DEF was not as stylish as they are now...boo...so then all these underaged guys with good haircuts were all around >.< sucks. lol kinda like ShiNEE mode. I'll have to find a way to get more fashionable...hmmmzz...

I name all my appliances now after pokemon cities, lol.

Nothing much up with me, just working on cosplay (oni-con's in 2 weeks!! O_O still need to make abra and spike colonello hair) and rewatching some old stuff, like samurai champloo. Man, it's good. not squealy good like ouran, which is awesome squealy (i can't resist watching that miyano mamoru voice acting clip) but still great stories. I feel like it's some epic long arc, there's so many good fights and climaxes throughout the story. I always feel like it's so close to the end, but i'm only on episode 20? or something?
